Jake Walker showed discipline and determination in his first road course race with SPS to bring home the #23 in a respectable finish despite engine troubles throughout the race.
SPS couldn’t be more proud of Jake and his professionalism in managing a difficult race in his ARCA debut. Despite engine troubles throughout the race, Jake displayed incredible driving talent in a car he had never driven before. Just as impressive was Jake’s ability to work with the team and crew chief to continually diagnose and minimize the impacts of a dying motor.
Jake stayed focused, and took advantage of his driving abilities on the tight corners to help maintain progress and position, despite a major power deficit in motor that was going south. Jake never gave up, provided valuable feedback that allowed the car to ultimately limp home to an important points finish for the team.
Joe Farrè stated, “while this isn’t the finish that we would have hoped for, more importantly, we gained valuable experience with a young driver that showed grit, discipline and talent throughout the weekend. His qualifying efforts were phenomenal, and we can’t wait to see what Jake can do when we put him in a car with no ailments.”
We’ll be back next weekend in Sonoma ready to more road course racing. Stay tuned for the announcement. It’s going to be good! #rcesigmasps @jakewalkerofficial @arca_racing #nascar #racing
